Going To Harrods

“I want to have the whole English experience. High tea, supervising manifestations, taking the waters, going to Harrods, discussing possible international conspiracies.”
-Daniel O'MalleyThe Rook

On Friday, Sidney and I took a trip to Harrods.  As an avid shopper, I was very excited to see how the most well-known department store in London compared to American ones.

Harrods is absolutely beautiful, inside and out.  The Egyptian escalators on the inside were awing (although I did almost walk into the pole which was supposed to block strollers).  The room devoted to Louboutins was huge (they need more of those in America).  Now, some department stores in America have a restaurant, maybe two, inside.  Harrods completely blows those restaurants out of the water by having a giant food hall, Ladurée, and a candy shop.

Oh, did I mention there's also a Godiva inside??

Chocolate and shopping, a
perfect combination
After stopping for dark chocolate fondue, Sidney showed me the rest of Harrods.  Harrods has literally everything you could need.  Bedazzled iPad Mini case?  Trench coat for your dog?  The infant Gucci collection?  One Direction perfume?  Giant polar bear stuffed animal?  Yup, literally everything.

Christmas World... it's only September!

I was well equipped for the rain day with my red trench.  Fortunately, the rain lightened up while we were inside.

Attack of the giant bears... ahh!
So New York City department stores, you better step up your game.  If a Harrods of this proportion ever hits New York City, you can say bye-bye to Barney's and Bergdorf's.  Sorry New York, but London's got you beat on this front.
