Mix Of Orange

"If I'm in Italy, I'm going to have a cappuccino and two small brioches and then a mix of orange and grapefruit. I don't drink tea in Italy."

Our breakfasts were probably one of my favorite parts about being in a different country with only my friends for a week.  We all chipped in and helped cut fruit, lay out prosciutto, toast baguette, and make mimosas.  Breakfast was heavenly, and as you can see from the view, we were definitely in paradise.

The second day out in Tuscany, we chilled (i.e. read, tanned, napped) all day.  As the sun started to set, we decided to take the car over to Castiglione della Pescaia, an ancient seaside town.

As we explored in the dark, it definitely felt like an episode of Pretty Little Liars.  The boardwalk was deserted since there was a storm approaching (which we got caught in unfortunately).

Of course, we had to stop for gelato at a small shop on the boardwalk.

YUM
Oddly enough, the name of the place is "Sandy".  This immediately brought back all the memories of Hurricane Sandy which hit the northeast October last year.

You can't make this stuff up
Remember how I said we got caught in the storm?  Not only did we get caught in it, but we all got completely soaked.  At first, we tried to not get super wet, but then the skies opened up, and as we gave up on being dry, we all started laughing.

Driving home in the thunderstorm was NOT cool.  The terrain in the Italian country-side is similar to the roads I drive at home, so I volunteered to drive.  Driving in the pouring rain while navigating around curved roads and Italian drivers was quite nerve-wracking, and Sidney was sitting in the passenger seat holding on tightly the whole time.  Thankfully, we made it back safely and decided that a game of drunk Monopoly was in order.

This is a card??
After getting soaked in the rain, it was nice to get all cozy under blankets, drink Italian wine, and play Monopoly (#IAmStern).
